Afghanistan Launches New Healthcare Support Plan for Isolated Region

(MENAFN) Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health announced on Sunday the signing of a $4.31 million agreement with the Bu Ali Rehabilitation and Aid Network aimed at improving access to essential healthcare services in the central province of Daykundi.

According to a ministry statement, the one-year project will provide medical services to more than 569,000 residents through a network of 55 healthcare centers and 373 family health houses operating across the province.

Officials said the initiative is also expected to create 1,377 jobs within the local healthcare sector, contributing to employment opportunities and economic activity in the region.

The program targets Daykundi, a remote mountainous province where rugged geography and limited infrastructure have long complicated access to basic public services for many residents.

Authorities said the agreement is intended to strengthen healthcare delivery and expand medical coverage in some of the province's most hard-to-reach communities.
