Israel Explores Establishment of US Military Bases on Its Soil
Israeli media revealed that Tel Aviv has formally put forward the proposal, which includes not only the creation of new US installations within Israel but also the potential redeployment of existing American bases from elsewhere in the region. The outlet noted that while no final decision has been reached, the matter is being actively deliberated as part of broader strategic discussions between the two allies amid their ongoing joint military campaign against Iran.
Neither the Israeli government nor the US administration has issued any immediate response to the report.
The disclosure arrives as the entire region remains on high alert following the US-Israeli air offensive against Iran, launched on Feb. 28 — a campaign that has so far claimed more than 1,340 lives, including that of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has since responded with waves of drone and missile strikes directed at Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and a number of Gulf states where US military forces are stationed — a pattern of retaliation that has kept the broader region on a knife's edge.
