Syrian Army Reports Rocket Attack on Hasakah Base
According to a news outlet, citing the Army’s Operations Command, the targeted base is located near the town of Al-Ya’rubiyah in rural Hasakah. The report stated that five rockets hit the site.
It added that the rockets were fired from an area near the village of Tal al-Hawa, about 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) inside Iraqi territory.
The army also said that coordination took place with Iraqi authorities, who confirmed they had begun searching the area to identify those responsible for the attack.
The Syrian Army emphasized that its forces remain on high alert and will carry out their duties to defend Syrian territory and “respond to any aggression.”
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and as of 2020GMT, Baghdad has not issued any official statement.
